The Canon imagePROGRAF TX‑4200 is a 44-inch (B0/1118 mm wide) wide-format printer designed to seamlessly handle both precision technical CAD/GIS drawings and vivid full-colour poster outputs. It delivers a maximum print resolution of 2400 × 1200 dpi with a six-channel PF-06 printhead incorporating 15,360 nozzles and droplet sizes as small as 5 picoliters — enabling remarkably fine line accuracy (±0.1 % or less) and minimum line weight of just 0.02 mm.
In terms of productivity, the TX-4200 can print at up to around 3.3 pages per minute at A1 size in fast mode, and features “hot-swap” ink tanks (so inks can be replaced during operation), dual-roll feed capability (optional), automatic media loading with built-in sensors, and a media width range from 152 mm to 1118 mm. It uses a five-colour pigment ink system (Matte Black, Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow) for durability and high image quality on a wide variety of media types.
For connectivity and workflow integration, it supports standard interfaces including USB, Gigabit Ethernet, WiFi, a 500 GB built-in hard drive, and a full suite of job-submission and management tools (such as the driver optimized for CAD, USB thumb-drive printing, and mobile printing support).
All in all, the TX-4200 offers a blend of high precision, large-format capability, and workflow features suitable for architecture, engineering, production print shops or corporate print centres that need both technical drawing fidelity and vibrant poster printing — making it a versatile “dual-purpose” wide-format printer.
